I need disc brake swap part for my '73 Hilux. I need spindles, calipers, etc. from a '75-'78 Hilux, I have a brake booster from an '80 but I'm not sure if it will work. Hopefully someone close to Oregon has what I'm looking for, PayPal ready for parts.

I also have the complete spindles from the same truck but I was told that they wont work, because they are front steer and my truck is rear steer I would have to swap them left for right. Someone told me that if I did that the caster on my truck would be all off. Anyone know if that is true?

    Thanks,

    Austin

Up. I still need brake parts. A gauge cluster that would fit my truck would be nice too ('72-'78?) is doesn't have to work it just needs all of the housing/plastic/mounts/etc to be unbroken

Test fit the spindles. Many of us are curious about the swap

I know for a fact they will bolt on, I just don't know if the caster will be correct. The hard lines for the brakes will also have to be remade as they point the wrong direction.

Do you just flip the lower BJ upside down and bolt the spindle on?

No, you have to swap the spindles left for right and vice versa since the steering is done from the front on the newer ones.

I bet shipping parts that heavy from LA to Eugene would be spendy.
