i think you paid a lil much, thats the "blue book" listing price for a "perfect" one. that one is not perfect.

but with fleabay sometimes the price goes up

i paid $1k for my first one, barely ran and drove, bit of surface rust and a few missing bits with some "back yard fixin" done to the motor/carb.

only things i can see thats missing are the badges on the fender, should also be one on the tailgate.

i say screw the "buy it now" if your willing to pay that much cool. but id be the first bid, way cheaper and noone else has bid.

if you'd settle for a worse condition stout at a much cheaper price, send me a pm after looking at my stout thread ;)

Yes, I bought it for the $4250.00. I feel I paid too $500-$1000 too much, but if you think about it how often do are theese trucks available. The guy has had it for 8 years and it's a daily driver.. Imagine w/ a little suspension work it could be resemble this truck...[IMG][/IMG]

correction, thats a ton of suspension work.

front setup is jacked, xmem is part of the frame, wouldnt even tuck tires if you removed the springs up front, only about 2-3in possible and the way the control arms are bj flips require a bit of fab.

im takin a shortcut with a newer frame

I agree, if you plan on it looking like the one from Japan. Plan on doing a front clip swap from a new Toyota truck, then just do the normal work to the back end.

these trucks were made back when toyota didnt know about suspension, they just kinda made stuff up it seems like. Around the mid to late 70's toyota got a clue..

The funny thing is that I've also never seen one in real person. I'm just addicted to that white one from Japan, so I thought to just go for it and buy it...... Does anyone know what Yota truck it's compared with in actual size? Is it like a 90's Yota mini pick-up or bigger like the mid 2000's???

    I almost bought one.

Met a guy selling one in San Diego. The dimensions are simular but up close to one, they really are bigger than a mini truck. If I had to compare size, I would have to say something like a Dakota??? IDK, just my opinion.

It's not hard to put a hilux/pickup chassis under them if you want to do a samurai spirit style thing. Wheelbase is close enough you can either not worry about it or if you're bagging it then just relocate the diff slightly. You'll want to be pretty handy with a welder or have some friends that are though.

I went down the 'friends that are' path myself.

    Cheers
    Matt
