My truck is bodied and I have deleted the heater/a/c. Currently I just looped the tubes together at the back of the engine with a short piece of hose. But if I could delete this tubes it would be nice. Have to make a couple plates but that's no big deal. Is that possible or does the engine rely on these tubes for coolant circulation related to engine operation. Or are they just for delivery of coolant to the heater core?
Contemplated doing this myself the channels for the heater circulation are just that from what I gathered its pulled from one side of the water pump thru the heater and returned to the head on a 22r . So I'm still kinda curious if it aids in keeping the head cooled as well . More than likely it can be done I haven't done yet in fear of detonation from a hot head and high compression
Well I got to thinking. These tubes deliver coolant to the heater core. That's it. When you slide your temp selector on your ac panel to cold, you pull a cable that turns the valve for the coolant flow off. So that no coolant goes to the heater core. Thus, stopping that flow of coolant. I think they can be deleted.
Yea the valve on the firewall that's what I'm thinking . Just make some block off plates and get rid of the extra tubes . Essentially the same thing the valve does
