Alright i posted this here cuz its not a for a yota but here it goes.

I lowered my Nissan HB with 3" blocks and i pulled the middle leaf. Well now im looking to get back a bit of the load carrying capabilities but i dont want to lose the amount of drop ive gotn. I still have the middle leafs and im wondering if de-arching the them will allow me to carry extra weight. I dont mean de-arch the whole leaf pack, just the middle leafs.

I would put the middle leaf back in but then id have to find a way to lower it 2" to get it where i want. I can redrill the hangar but thats guna be slightly sketchy if i dont drill the holes straight so im tryin to avoid that.

Oh yeah! N im also guna be getting air shocks a lil later down the road.

dont bother with doing air shocks or de-arching the leafs. get helper bags for the truck and install them to sit right at ride height. if you carry a heavy payload you can air back up to ride height with the load and wont lose drop.

air shocks only work well with air in them, otherwise they are prone to ride like doodoo or blow the bags out. dearching the leafs will lower the truck but then puts more strain on the overload eventually sagging it out and also making the ride doodoo-ish.

I had my full leaf pack (stock 2wd extra cab) dearched by a spring shop. It cost less than 100 bucks I believe. But i had mine lowered 5 inches. I ran airshocks like that. And I had lots of people in the back numerous times. And I drove really hard drifting and stuff. And they never broke. The spring shop did mention that the springs were weaker at the ends.

This may be stupid but in the past ive read about people cutting the ends of one ofthe leafs and it drops a bit but still retains some weight carrying capabilities
