Was surfing around the web, found this site and liked what I saw so decided to sign up.
Have an unusual project, started off as a 1.3L Toyota Corolla wagon until a friend of mine cut it down into a ute (minitruck to you guys). I bought it a while later when it was part way through a rebuild and now the project has snowballed a bit. Curently fitted with a Toyota 4V pushrod V8 from a Toyota Century, W55 5 speed box and disc brake F code diff from a Toyota Crown. Body mods (beside the original ute conversion) include Hilux Surf tailgate and bumper cut down to fit, towbar hidden behind numberplate, electric rear window, fully shaved body, front bumper top half Mitsi L200 and bottom half Hilux, BA Falcon V8 bonnet hump and lots of other little touches. Currently fitted with 17x8 front (205/40 17's) and 17x9 rear (245/35 17's) Blitz 03 wheels after a 5 stud conversion all around. Still a fair bit of work to do but slowly getting there. A couple of pics of it -

Underside has been all finished now and it is currently getting the gearbox tunnel finished before they go over the whole thing again to finish the last of the bodywork. For the full build details its all posted here -

I just came a little. That thing is rediculously badass. I would love to see it still having a corolla style grille when its all done. You will be much loved around here. Project is awesome.

If you ran those BMW 4 round headlights, it would look crazy :eyecrazy:

Amazing work, I never heard of a toyota pushrod v8. (other than racing circuits). 4v as in 4 valves per cylinder or 4 barrel? either way its pimp! Specs on the motor?

I got those front brakes your running on my truck. Did you take my idea???

Kinda looks like my celica's frame to the firewall, then like a previa van underneath

Really really cool project, and welcome!

The V series Toyota V8's were fitted to the Toyota Century (basically a luxury limo) for the Japanese market only, supposedly a small scale copy of the Chrysler Hemi. Started in the late 60's with the 3L 3V and progressed to the 3.4L 4V and 4L 5V. Production stopped around 1997ish when it was replaced by the 1GZ 5L V12. This one has had head work, cam, forged pistons and fitted with a Holley 4 barrel. Has an adaptor plate for the manual box to bolt up to the auto bellhousing. Currently working on getting a factory injected manifold so I can cut it up for an 8 throttle setup using 2 sets of quads off the 20V Toyota 4A-GE motor.

I did look at it but would have had to cut the rear out of it to do it and really wanted to keep the tray in it.

Yeah finally got it back after the towing saga, got mucked around with getting my trailer fixed so borrowed one then towed mine back patched up and empty. As soon as I got it back it got totally stripped so we could flip it upside down and do all the chassis bracing for the V8. Towed it home again to put the front end and motor back in and it's now gone back for the gearbox tunnel to be finished and then finalise the rest of the bodywork.

I will chuck a proper build thread up in the right section and then keep you guys updated.
