crazy rattling noise

    Something weird is going on in my 82 2wd 5speed... not sure what, but the faster i go as i shift through my gears there is an awful rattling noise. It literally sounds like a couple pennies in an empty coffee can being shaken... but it's a spinning sound too... all of a sudden it grinds like it locking in to the clutch or something and stops. I'm pretty sure it's the clutch. ANY OPINIONS OR SUGGESTIONS???

    does it do it in all gears and just get faster and louder? i would get the rear up on stands and put in gear to see if you can pinpoint where the noise is coming from. is it hard to get in and outta gears?
