okay, so i was drivin my 78 last night and screwin around. doing donuts in a parking lot up the street. lol. and the clutch stopped wanting to operate. thought it might be my clutch slave setup (50 slave, 55 pushrod) and got a 55 slave and that didnt solve it. i can see through the throwout fork's boot that the throwout bearing is pushing the pressure plates teeth flat. but it still wont let me go into gears. i can start it in gear and drive. and did the brake and clutch trick to try and possibly free them up. im sorta stumped. i have all the parts a w55 should be running now. and all of them look to be working but arent.

so, im going to drop the trans back down on sunday. and am prepared to replace the disc and/or pressure plate. if thats the case, is there a stock replacement price range one that is better than a stock? a stage one from somebody or ive heard about using the stock 4wd one since its a little tougher. but i also seem to remember hearing that there are a few different flywheels or something. basically, id like to keep it to about $150 if i can. less is better. probably get my flywheel machined (although i did last summer with the new clutch; a napa stock replacement). i have a pretty potent little motor so i figure i might as well put something better.

sorry for the lack of punctuation. if i need to clear up anything let me know. thanks guys. and ill keep reading around to see what i can find out from other threads.

i checked parts store websites. looks like there are a few choices of what they have. centerforce is like $250 tho. so ill probably just end up running a 4wd. atleast i found that most of them run the same spline, diameter, and basic size.

while on the topic, what type of break in is required on non stock clutches? i cant imagine its a "go drive it really hard" type of thing. lol. eventually i think im going to modify a bellhousing to take the trans to bell bolts from the outside to make removal easier.
