Hey guy, First time posting but have been checking out the forums for awhile. I have a 1990 2wd pickup 22r. I'm having an issue with my clutch and am hoping you guys know what the cause of this sound is. I can shift gears fine but the sound happens everytime i disengage the clutch (pedal down). Any ideas? Thanks, Matt
Sounds like the pedal spring. Put your head under the dash(very uncomfortable) and look at the complete pedal assembly-then press it down. You may need a small flashlight to see all the moving parts.
kinda hard to tell where the sound is coming from. if its inside the cab its the spring, otherwise i bet you've got broken fingers on the spring plate.
The sound is coming from my transmission area because you can hear it better when you crawl under the truck. I've also been noticing that when i go over bumps i can hear a bit of a rattle there too.
Another diagnosis could be if it souds like a shing shing shing sound while the pedal is up and not while its down could be a sloppy through out bearing. At any rate if you have any sound coming from your clutch area you gotta pull the trany to investigate. Sorry, Ebay the parts its usually cheaper.
