Bought my Sr5 about 2 weeks ago now and have been going through it slowly and fixing little Maintainance things. Before I bought it it had a valve cover leak and was fixed but all the old oil that puked out is still all over the engine bay and under the truck. I would like to clean it all up some but not sure where to start and what to use. Was thinking of buying a bunch of cans of engine bright and spraying it all down and hitti g what I can with a pressure washer. Just can't do it in the driveway. If it gets in the street I'm sure I'll get a fine and my neighbors will no longer like me...
I've seen a few threads of people cleaning engine bays but never how and what they used to do it. Just looking for some guidence on this. :waytogo:

fot the really thich oil build up i use easy off oven cleaner. its pretty strong so you cant leave is soaking too long. just repeat the process and it will work well. do not use on painted areas and use gloves because it also removes fingerprints.

Do yourself a favor. Go to the doller tree and buy 2 bottles of las totally alsome cleaner/degresser...spray and rise. Works great. This is the site that got me using it. Cheap and easy..

purple power and simple green in a 50/50 mix works pretty damn good too. and you can buy them in gallon size jugs. spray on and let it soak for like 5 minutes then hose off.

This method works KILLER with your average garden hose and one of those gun nozzle things. You can also run the garden hose off your water heater (easy if in the garage) and hit it with hot water....
