Hey whats up. I dont have a truck but I am hoping I can score a 89-95 in va before winter. I am wanting to make it my winter dd and my summer motorcycle hauler. I dont wanna do a major bag setup because I do need it to haul my bike from time to time. But I want it low so its easy to load the bike on and off. And not looking for anything fast. Just another gas sipping vehicle that i can deck. Thinking about going with a yamaha racing team theme or something since my bike is a yammie. A 92 to be exact so itll be kinda cool to find a 92 toy. Anyways sorry for the rambling im at work still. and its late.

Yup and everywhere within a 1.5 hour drive. That way if I atleast get half way home b4 it drives I can get a tow truck out there.

    [update] i got my truck

So after months of looking I picked up my 1984 Toyota Pickup today. Its a base no ac or power steering. But its all original and it runs and runs good. I changed out the thermostat, cleaned the carb, flushed the rad and changed out the cap. Next weekend I am going to do an oil change, change the sparks, wires, and dis. cap. After that imma put new stocks on all around. I wanna lower it a bit. My plans have changed abit and I want to make it a fake lexus truck. Its kinda lame but its what I wanna do. Pictures will come tomorrow not at my house.

Nice score!! Fake lexus actually sounds like a good idea.. Some lexus emblems and lexus rims and all chrome would make a good start.

Should be very easy to do.

how many miles did the truck have? 22R I believe?
I hope you're using Toyota Red Coolant, too. Best for the Toyota's.
NGK plugs and wires (or toyota wires).

    good luck and welcome!

It's got 212, xxx miles on it. Yes its a 22r and no I am not using toyota red coolant. Didn't know about it. But my uncles wants to change out the rad hoses so when we flush it again I'll be sure to look for some. And yea I know about the Ngk sparks. It should be fairly easy just wanna make sure I go about it the right way so it doesn't look like ish.

Body is pretty straight a couple of rust spots but nothing that can't be handled. The bed has a few holes in it but Imma try my best to fix so I can keep it cuz its a jap bed.

Cool! Glad you found this '84 Toyota truck that's running good. Take care of it and it will last you a long time. I've had mine for almost 31 years.

The Toyota red coolant is a good product, but it's gotten too expensive. I started buying it at $10.95 about 10 years ago and now it is close to $25.00 and that's even with my "special pricing" discount. Go ahead and give it a try. Toyota sells the regular and the pre-mixed.

Also, get a cap & rotor with brass terminals. It will cut down on the pitting. And, make sure you get good quality spark plug wires. I use the MSD wires that are red with grey boots.

Post up a photo when you get a chance!

    Rick
