chevy swap

    ok guys my neighbor has a 454 chevy motor i wanted to know if it gonna be able to be put into a 1985 yota i want it for show and meets dont wanna get into racing but if i have to ill go that way in the track

    93 2wd pickup "home depot" / 2004 Toyota Sequoia 4x4
    That may be too big of a motor. From what I have seen a 350 is a tight fit.

    the 454 is a shortblock from what i seen

    I agree with patrick that may be way to big to squeeze in there. But where there is a will there is a way. Good luck!!

    The biggest problems with a 454 is overall width and height, and te weight. They're about 3x heavier than a 22R so you need to account for an extra 600-700 lbs up front. Which means bigger brakes to stop it and the handling goes to poo. Plus BB Chevy motors still have the distributor in the back. I say do a small block.

    For comparison, we put a 440 dodge big block in a 91 Dakota. We cut the firewall open and had to make all custom mounts. It's huge, and a Dakota is a mid size truck.
