Remove the Air Filter Housing. Label and Remove the Vacuum Hoses, now may be a good time to replace them if they are Old or Cracked. Disconnect the Throttle Linkage. Unplug any Electrical Wires that are connected (Electric Choke, Fuel Shutoff Solenoid, etc.) Disconnect Coolant Hoses (if equipped with a coolant controlled choke.) Clean the surrounding area, especially right around where the Carburator meets the Intake Manifold. There are Four Bolts holding the Carburetor to the Intake Manifold, unscrew the Nuts that are attached to said Bolts. Making sure that no crud or dirt or anything goes into the Intake Manifold, Remove the Carburator. Plug the Intake Manifold with a Clean Rag so nothing harmful can go inside.

    OR

    Have a mechanic do it.
