Does anyone have experience with an upgraded carb on a 20r? my stock one is going out and had made the truck (79 2wd single cab long bed) fail smog due to running way to rich. So far I have had no luck finding a used carb in decent condition. so I was looking at what other people had put in like a weber 32/36. If I were to go that route, would I be able to get it to pass smog or what. I've found adapter kits with the carbs that claim it is smog legal but I just need input on if I should or not. also how difficult is it to install and all that good stuff.

Caliyota,... Have you Checked the EGR valve and components to see if clear and operating? Also, check float/fuel level on carb. These may be a quick fixes to get your engine leaner and acquire your cert.

    How does it run?

The AAP valve likes to leak extra fuel into the manifold....
