I recenly posted a question on a carb problem in the introduce yourself section by accident, but got some help. After messing with everyting on the carb I finally found a vac line off and the nipple it slides onto. The nipple was clogged with grease and dirt.Long story short,I cleaned it out and attached the line, pored a little gas in the carb and it started and ran like a charm. The only issue now is I get one shot to start it and if I do it wrong then it has to sit for several hours to start again unless I pour gas directly into the carb.Whats going on???
First of welcome to e forums .. What's the mileage on this carb has it been rebuilt chances are if u have grease and grit in your vac tubes coming off the carb then you proably have junk in the carb your float could be stuck or corroded air bleed needles and jets may be clogged the diaphragm could be torn ...in all honesty replacing the oem carb with a weber 32/36 will save u headaches and reliability issues as they are much easier to tune and work on ..if you don't wanna go that rout a full rebuild is proably your second best bet
Thanks for the reply. It was running horrible this morning, now its running great.I think a new carb is going to be my cure.
I think float also.Check the.little window on the side of the carb the float is right behind that.Sometimes you can bang on the top of it to free it up but its prob. dirty. The fuel level should be about half way up the window.
