Hey, thought I'd reintroduce myself since I haven't posted in awhile. I have a 89 SR5 3.0 V6 that I have been working on awhile. Anyway a few years back a chick ran a red light and I center punched her, tearing from the firewall forward off. The truck was a write off. To peoples disbelief I decided to rebuild her. So about 8 k later I got her in pretty much stock condition minus a roll pan in the rear. So I am looking for abit of direction of where to take her. Up here where I'm from we have few and far inbetween quality mini truck builds. Right now I have DJM 3" drop control arms with lowered shocks I plan on putting in. What is the largest rim I can shoe without clearance issues.
Keep the ideas and suggestions flowing. i would love to make this build epic.

    ALRIGHT! Canada! Hey buddy!

I hope you don't get mad at me but GET RID OF THAT GODAYYUM BODY KIT!

That's what you should to first. As for the rims you should not only consider the rims size but also the sidewall on the tire. But I would say you should look at some 16's or 17's.

I have plenty more suggestions as I have brought my truck from stock suspension to static dropped, to static slammed, and to airbagged on 20's. If you can clear everything on the inside fenders off by relocating it in the engine bay it will be a good start I would think.

The 3.0L isn't a very well liked engine. I have heard that the newer 3.4L is a relatively easy swap with your truck.

Uhhhmm as for lowering the back. You could consider getting a spring shop to de-arch them for you. You can get anywhere from 3-6 inches of drop doing it that way. Beware of pinion angles because it can make your driveshaft explode if it is not aligned properly. To de-arch they basically heat the springs and compress them. I remember when I did it it was only about 100 bucks. I also ran Monroe air shocks in the rear because if you lower it that much the axle will begin to hit the frame. You can also cut out and/or change the axle bump stops. Or you can notch your frame.

If your trying to airbag it then you might want to skip some of the messing around with the static drops and get serious with wheel tubs and frame notches.

    blah blah blah blah lol

Oh and also the front options: ball joint flip, crank torsion bars, control arms (you say you have), and spindles (Belltech)
