and please...dear god...organize the forum section to the proper body style eras?!

no need to add a new category, just change the "pre-75 hilux and stout" and "1976-1983 pickup" to be "65-78 hilux and stout" and "1979-1983 pickup"

it wouldn't be much work to move the threads from place to place. if it effects peoples links to other sites, honestly im okay with that. because id rather see ours organized. overall the place is set up fairly streamlined.

yea....... i thought about the earlier truck forums and they do seem to split the essentially same truck style..... that would save a bit of room and streamline it just a hair better.

i dunno........ hopin that jeff see's somethin in regards to a mod post so he'll pay attention to our silent cries for help

Even though I am new and it isn't my place I admit is is quite bad from reading the comments in the build up sections.

I vote one of you two since your both over 1000...

One almost overlooked thing mods need is a large PM box though. I don't know if the site has that built in to their features but its needed since they often get flooded with PMs from people. Atleast we are drama free. If I get mod status, I'll make some business cards that say something along the lines of

"Sweet toyota! Join www.toyotaminis.com and see other like minded people with lowered 2wds. Many northwest members"

Or something like that. Might actually get some people showing up instead of just leaving hand written notes. at least they don't say I'll follow them home. Hahaha.

yea....... basic upgrades for Mods like the PM capacity would be a given...... he has this site setup similar to how he had customtacos done. im sure it would follow suit. we just need to clean this up and organize the site before the threads and such get any worse....

moderating the members is no issue.... we have a SERIOUSLY mello crowd here.

Maybe if you make a 3rd thread something will happen....I guess if you flood the forum with moderator threads someone's bound to do something sooner or later huh Alex  ?

That could be doubtful really. In the past week I think I've seen 20 different threads about torsion bars, balljoint flips and lowering blocks...and nobody mentioned that its been covered a dozen times. Except SD linking his writeup and people referancing your parts. Free publicity...but what good is that when there's ones like "How low will adjusting torsions get me?" that is posted above 2 others. We need mods bad, before things do get unorganized and people stop coming around.

i could test that theory

exactly...... its not so much the constant questions...... its that since they dont immediately see a thread relating to their "specific" question, first easy thing to do is start a thread...... but if you migrate all threads pertaining to "lower your truck" with pictures, links to other posts and such related all into one, its likely people will spend some time in that one post lookin around before attempting to post.

i'd rather old threads get resurrected than new ones asking the same questions be started.... know what i mean?

exactly. like, maybe even had the common stuff be stickied above where the "most active topics" is so its easy to find. so unless someone new clicks the arrow to shut that tab they will see it.

And, I will probably be using the School of Nuff: Degree of Difficulty and Time Scale on all of my future writeups. Look at his stuff on celica sites, or pstoc.org and you'd know what I mean. He rates a project in the number of beers it takes to accomplish. Such as, a balljoint flip would be 2 beers. Changing a cab, 6 beers. Putting a hilux grille into an 82 wheeler, 3-1/4 beers. I like the system. Haha :D

 hmm........ does the degree of difficulty equation also have a direct effect on outcome?

thats actually a pretty good system

I'm not much in the know of how fourms work but I do know that when I do a search I hate reading the same thing over 50 post replys and not even close to what I'm looking for
    stickys would be cool
and it might save some band with in witch our site owner will have to pay for

Is there a way on this forum to sticky all the FAnoobQ and they show up on the top of every subforum?

Like you open up the build thread link to whatever model years pertain to you. And before the thread list starts you have a post that reads "ALL NOOBS READ HERE FOR A COOL TRUCK GIVEAWAY"

And then, BAM!!! They get flooded with need to know info about theyre truck.

And yes seperate the early model years by bodystyle.
