    Hey guys,

I noticed I have some hoses that were taken off from the stock air cleaner with the stock carb when I had it replaced with my weber.

One hose is simply plugged with a threaded stud and the other end is coming out of a tube from the bottem of the motor

Another looks to be a breather hose again coming from the bottem of the motor and went into this unit thst looks like a fuel pump and the other end of the hose the went into the stock air cleaner, seen a pic yesterday.

I really want to remove these hoses if I can and clean it up even more, is it alright to leave an open port coming out of the motor? Want to make sure it won;t affect it when I take it for a drive.

Also the throttle cable assembly has a rod with a ball at the end thsat just sits inside this pocket, does not click in place just sits there, soemone before I got the truick put a piece of copper wire to hold it in place, looks like crap, took it off, thought about putting a small black zip tie around it to hold it in place or will it just stay there, will it pop off there from road vibes?

Here are some pics circled in red are the areas I'm talking about, appreciate any help on this.

    Thanks guys,
    Pete

I just noticed I should have used the paint brush or spray option instead of the fine tip pencil when I circled the pics, would be able to see then better, first time using this edit option.

Sorry it not easier to see, but you can see it, if you squint LOL.

    Thanks Guys

looks to me thats the force air injection pump, it take exhaust gasses and cycles them through the intake, your supposed to use it but even with EFI trucks you can put a breather on it and forget it

there is a tube coming from the exhaust side of the motor that will run into the thing bolted under the intake, once you remove that you either have to use block off plates on the header or on the tube itself then you would need to block off all the vacuum lines that run to it.....and that should be it

This shows the correct way the pvc is supposed to be routed with a weber, directly from a tech at LCE yesterday.

Here is the smog pump pulled off

    http://i325.photobucket.com/albums/k393/tacomatoy2001/100_2482.jpg

Also found out I can pull off those dual tubes to the side of the manifold, that runs down the side, across the back and connects, not sure I am going to worry about that though.

Got the other block off plate for the back of the smog pump and some plug caps coming from LCE, also pulled off the vaccum tree below the carb on the left yesterday.

    Had a good day yesterday.

    Have a good weekend everyone
