Can I use an A40 transmission with the 18R?

    1974 Hillux short bed
    I have a 74 hillux with an18R engine and A30 transmission but it doesn't have reverse so I found an A40 transmission for really cheap but I don't know if it is going to work with my 18R. Can anybody tell me if it fits or if I have to change anything?

    75 hilux, 80 4x4
    will bolt right up, and prolly uses the same linkage.


    i would check the legnth tho, that may differ a lil bit.
