I hope this will help others. I recently bagged and bodied my 92 yota, that was equipped with p/s. I took the whole system off except the gearbox and I cut and looped the feed and return lines for a temporary fix. Just long enough to get it running again and test drive it.So I got it all together and put bout 50 miles or so on it. It has a horrible vibration in the steering wheel so I figured flat spotted crappie tires! I balanced the tires rotated them around still terrible vibration at 55.Well then I got with SD yota and scored a manual gearbox! As it turns out the steering shafts are bout 2 inches shorter with p/s. So I got with SD and thankfully he had the original shaft. Got it all put in and the vibration is completely gone! The p/s gear box weighs about 300lbs but if you keep p/s you don't have to notch your control arm on 18s!

Thanks for the shaft reminder. I may have to go power on a project I'm putting together. Depends how much steering effort the wide front tires require.
