not neccessarily........ just means your seal is no longer good in that spot..... wont be able to tell if you got a cracked head or not till you tear it appart.

do you have coolant in the oil? or just burning water?

I just went through this ordeal a couple weeks ago. Bought my 90 in november, has the 3.0L with 85,000 miles. Truck sat for a long time!! Anyway, about a week after i had it, water was in oil, oil was in water, everything was mixing and leaking:rolleyes:
Tore engine apart, it had the factory recall head gasket done, but it had swelled quite bad, and was leaking bad from the #5 spot. Replaced everything i could, water pump, drive pulleys, all belts, just about all i could at that point. Ran about $600 bucks for the parts. Had a buddy to do the work so he cut me a good deal on labor. Head bolts and gasket set alone were about $300. Plus replaced the knock sensor and pigtail which had corroded pretty bad. Interesting thing about the age on this truck. Everything i tried to unhook or unclip, like the spark plug wire holders, was just breaking due to being so brittle.

yes on the heads, and for sure on the sittin around stuff. You wouldnt believe the rear end fluid that came out of the chunk. Almost orange colored with more airbubbles than oil it seemed. It will be a fun little truck, interior is top-notch so that is one thing i wont have to fool with. Will bag it soon, paint it and then drag it!!

Japanese specialties in mission viejo. Definitely not the cheapest, but Jon the owner is definitely a toyota truck specialist. He has a toyota truck graveyard in his shop and drives a turbo pickup.

I am throwing in a engnbldr 270 cam and valve springs, I am trying not to go nuts since I really can't afford this right now. I talked to him today it seems a valve job is going to be mandatory at this point.. I am going to talk to him about refreshing the bottom end tomorrow since I really don't want to blow this motor up.
