ok so the blocks that i got from an auto zone don't fit. The hole and the pin are to small.

So does any one know where i can get 1 inch ones that fit.

What year truck you working on? I thought the blocks were universal. When we dropped the leaf springs on my 94, there was a rubber spacer between the bottom of the axle. Once that was removed, the blocks popped right in. Those blocks were also at one point in an 86. As a matter of fact, my brother picked up a set from Autozone and put them in his 92 before he bagged it, and those went in no problem.

Its a 93. The pins on the leaf springs are bigger then the hole in the blocks and hence the pin on the top of the blocks are smaller then the hole on the axle. So i would have to enlarge the block wholes and and sleeve the pins some how. So the axle doesn't move around.

Is there a flat rubber insulator between the leaf spring and the bottom of the axle?

you could remove the stock pin, and replace it with an allen head pin that will fit in the blocks you have. and the top shouldnt be an issue, only time ive ever had blocks move was with the wrong size u bolts (3" tube when i had 2.5") and the had come loose. ive run them for years. the top shouldnt be an issue. if youre really worried, drill through the blocks all together and make the leaf pin and block pin the same. thats what i did. worked good.

here is a picture to explain what i did. i did it because my first set of blocks walked around and broke on top, so did my replacements. then i realized the u bolts werent grabbing right, so i had new ones made up, pulled my center leaf and bolted that setup all together. works great. it puts my rear at about a 6-1/2 drop but hopefully the concept helps.

The 84-88 trucks have a smaller pin than the 89-94. I have a set of 2 inch blocks for sale that I machined out and put a bigger stud in. I used them on my 94 for a couple of years with no problems.

lol that would be why they didn't fit. They look like there supposed to be attached, holding the leaf pack together. It makes sense.

    Thanks for the heads up.:applause:

most people try to put them on the bottom of the drop blocks.... i put my centering blocks on top of my drop blocks.

For 1" blocks, this is what I do. They come with longer leaf pins/nuts too. They bolt to the leaf which means they are safer than normal style blocks also. These were the first solid pair, they are now made from rectangular 120. wall to save weight and I weld caps on the ends . When I build a set of normal blocks, I make the hole slightly bigger than 9/16" so the hole is guaranteed to fit the pins and not be too small. (a common problem with some store bought blocks)
