Any thing special I should try, ive put the vacuum line in a cup of fluid, used a vacuum bleeder, tried just holding my finger over the slave bleeder, the clutch still only goes so far.

You can start the truck in any gear, and you can tell the clutch is barely slipping the truck tries to go forward but just idling it wont and let the clutch out and it goes, but its hard to pull it out of gear with the clutch all the way in, and once your in neutral and the clutch is pressed in it wont go into any gear.

Is there some special trick to bleeding clutch on some vehicles, the clutch master is new and so is the slave and there are no leaks. I know on my friends mr2 we couldnt bleed it for nothing, paid a shop 60 bucks and it works fine now. What did they do that I didnt?

I gots no truck, for now
on mine i tried useing my little 1 man bleeder kit and i ended up sucking all the fluid out of the slave and making the pedal worse. I ended up having to have someone pump up the clutch a bunch of times, then when they were holding the pedal down to the floor open the bleeder, close the bleeder then have them pump it a bunch more times. i did this maybe 5-10 times...and viola! perfect clutch...

its the same as bleeding brakes..

I've actually had the same issues with my 72 4spd. is it possible that its not a clutch issue at all?

I got it working, bled it best I could, bleeding was working, but had to take the rod and loosen the lock nut and unscrew the rod some and put it back in the slave cylinder and it works perfect now.

yea, bleeding wasnt really helping mine any, and unfortunatly, i left for job corps before i got a chance to replace the master/slave cylinders (because to me that's what the issue seems to be). that left my father, who is a former full-time mechanic, to work on my truck. he, of course, wouldn't listen to me when i said replace the master/slave cylinders first. he is going right after the clutch. already bought the clutch kit and is planning on dropping the tranny next week and replacing it. maybe next time he'll listen to me about my own truck? lol
