It looks like I'm going to be (knock on wood) cleared to drive again, so the V-8 swap is back on. My question is: Has anyone here put a body lift on one of these trucks? The 2wd specifically? I don't want to go crazy with it, just a 1 inch body lift to give a little more air circulation around the engine and trans. The 3 inch body lift I installed on the Explorer went fairly easy as there was plenty of room for almost all of the things that needed to go up with the body. (wiring, cables, ect. We did have to switch to a Ranger steering shaft and use the spacer on that.) However, I've never liked the composite lift pucks or the cheap grade 5 bolts that came with the lift. For Lil B, I figured I'd learn from past mistakes and try to do it right with aluminum pucks and Grade 8 bolts. I can source the pucks from a jeep lift kit and the bolts from E&G Terminal or someplace else local, but that still leaves anything else that may need extended. Can anyone else think of anything that may not clear the 1 inch lift? Thanks for the help.
With only a 1'', there should be enough slack and clearance in everything to not have to extend anything. I did a 2'' on my truck before going long travel and I only had to make brackets to lift the radiator so the fan didnt hit the bottom of the shroud and the front bumper so it didn't look like it was falling off. This is actually a pic of my body lift when it was for sale.
