Ok, I bought a 1988 Toyota pickup 4x4 22-RE about two months ago and the truck has been great ive enjoyed it so far. But on my way home friday I noticed the little start clutch cancel button while i was driving, and i was like idk what that is so i pushed it, and ever since then my truck has been running like crap. It idles really rough and it kinda lurches while going down the road. I can be driving down the Road in 4th gear with the peddal to the floor and go 60mph Max. :shrug:Then ever once in awhile it kinda lunge and it will have full power like it did before for about 5 miles then back to running bad. I have to drive this truck everyday to work so please help ASAP! :confused:Thanks

so im guessing you still have it pressed in??

this is the first ive heard of this issue.... never heard of it giving anyone any issues. at any rate.... make sure the button is "off" then disconnect the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes. plug back in, start it, drive it, and report back to us.

I Dont know if it is still on or not because when i pressed it the light came on but if i press it again the light does not go off. So im guessing it is still on. But when i turn the truck off and back on the light is off. I disconnected the positive post yesterday for a couple of hours but did not help. I have both negative and positive disconnect now. Guess ill see if that makes any difference. Any other ideas?
    Thanks for the help

That button from what i know, helps for when your 4 wheeling and cant push the clutch in to start the truck up. If anything i would unplug that switch and see if that helps.

    still need help

nothing has helped so far and the truck is still running bad, its like the clutch does not work while im changing gears. when i go from one gear to another its like im not pressing the clutch in and i have to force it into gear and i have the clutch all the way down. Could some PLZ tell me how to remove the clutch start cancel i really need to get this done. I know it has something to do with this because sometimes it will still jerk and go back to normal power then after awhile back to half the power.:brickknock:
