I did not notice any threads in the fist few pages about ride comfort with a lowered truck. i have my 1989 pickup in the shop (toyconnections in Santa Clara CA) and i am thinking about getting closer to the ground. however i would like my truck to be my daily driver and in CA the means a lot of freeway driving.

What would be the best suspension setup/kit to get a smooth ride after a drop of a few inches?

anyone have tricks to keep truck running smooth on road?

I just added DJM lowering lower control arms, and it helped a great deal. Seems to me whatever you can do without touching the springs (ie: cranking t-bars, dropping a leaf out back) will allow you to have stock ride comfort.

I rode static dropped of 4 or so years , 2'' dropped springs @ rear than added 2'' dropped /angled blocks ( added c- notch at that time ), 2'' Beltech dropped spindles & trued down torsions , & Doestech shocks.
Rode very good, but the adjustably of bags is better!

yep, you can go Beltech Drop Spindles (2") and/or lower control arms (LCA)(about 2") . you can use in combination (4")Then you only have to tweak the torsions just to fine tune the drop if any at all... just depends on how low you are wanting/planning on going.

For the rear, like TruckAction said, plus you can also do the lowered leafsprings or have your stocks de-arched. A good set of shocks, like truck action said, is a must for comfortability!!!

do you guys have any preference on gas vs hydraulic? i've got the nitro drop 2 schocks, and they aren't too bad.

Most good shocks have oil & gas in them :KYB, Bilstein, Monroe,
    Koni, Belltech doetsch.
I have use KYB's on all our cars & my truck, I think the doetsch are the best.
    Bilstein's are very good also!!

I just cranked the torsion down, its probably a 4 inch drop up front. I just found air shock for the front i want to try to slam my front end and be able to air up over big speed bumps, but back the camaro shocks im running right now makes the truck ride better than stock with the drop its pretty firm

I got my kyb shocks from http://4wheelonline.com last month. So far, I'm happy with their performance. Ride quality is good-- not too soft and not to bumpy.

Ive got monomax on all corners, the master suspension kit from energy, 3.5 blocks with upgraded ubolts out back and up front is a bj flip and torsion rekey courtesy of sd yota, fairly inexpensive and rides way better then it did when I bought it
