best engine?

    ok so i mentioned earlier that my friend got a great deal on a stock floor body drop toyota thing is it didnt come with an engine or tranny. im telling him to put the 20r motor in it and he agrees that would prob be the best i also mentioned the 22rte but he dont know much about toyota's i told him to get on here but any other ideas???

    lol i didnt know jack about toyotas until i got on here i mean im no expert but i know a hell of alot more now ..

    but if it were me id put a 20r in it

    They're silly simple to work on, really reliable, and simply great on gas.

    I've owned faster cars, but I have to say, even with a 4speed my stock 82' pickup with the 22R is a joy to drive!

    I'd recommend any of the two motors, especially pre-83' - so he'll have the "dual chain / steel guide" version. If "FI" was a must, I'd rather 1jz it. Just my personal preference / opinion. :)

    nice, the rear bag setup looks very interesting! can u snag a few more shots of it. the piece missin in the cab is probly becuase he is smoothing in out...

    i love the rear set up it made me sick when i seen it laid out on 20s because i just sold my 20s because i didn want to pay 200 bucks to get the tubs up front done for 20s

    the hole in the back of the cab was for a sub box :confused: lol idk either kinda stupid to me
