gasket matching and porting the intake manifold will help alot on throttle response and mid range power too. larger throttle body and AFM are other small gains but important if you plan the bigger power adders like a full exhaust or moreso a cam swap. most the mods are fairy cheap and easy to do. more in depth would be removing EGR, smog pump, emissions parts, running a late style intake manifold if you have the old type. easy way to tell is throttle body angle. bent down is old, straight out is new. new has a better flow path and gains a few extra. if i was going to port an intake, id use that kind and swap over. less down time the day of engine work too if you port a 2nd part. hope this helps.
LC Engineering ,stage #1 Pro Street EFI! Have been running this for 6 or so years now, only 24,000 on engine, great performance ,runs fast & hard!! Just drove my truck 220 miles to a show & back, cruising @ 70-80 all the way!! Love it!!!!
Hey a 75 shot of a wet kit makes these things a beast for sure. U can piss alit of people off when you walk them on steal wheels and body rust......lmfao
Nos can be had at jegs.com or summit.com... I wouldn't go that far yet spraying is a large step up . I'd start with the things mentioned header cam carb upgrade exhaust . Ignition system clutch and flywheel If you do buy a kit get a wet kit fuel/nos combo
I wouldn't jump into NOS right away. You will need to upgrade your internals before you start popping NOS or else something will eventually give.Start with the basics like a cam, dual springs, flywheel, clutch etc..
Whats a good cam for it im getting headers in a month or soo straight pipe it! But for the cam will i need to mess with the computer or no...??? Thats what kinda confuses me
Yea I was just kidding about the spray don't pop you motor spray is only short term fun nothing last long on spray
Correct---on juice just kills an engine ,any engine!! Build a strong engine or buy a built engine---LC is a very, very good way to go!! This will not be cheap ---quality parts & building cost $$$$$$$ but like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!!
Actually, Nitrous Oxide is no more Deadly to an engine than Upgrade Performance cams, intakes, T-bodies, etc. When used in moderation. The problem with Nitrous is it isn't "Stupid proof", as the user MUST read plugs, and stay away from the "OMG! if 75 HP is good, then 400 shot MUST be better!" type thinking. Sooner or later, you will pop it. I've been spraying my cars for 20 years and never blown a head gasket.
I believe a good 22re cam would be in between the 270-280 duration but you should talk to the techs a LC and let them know what you want to do and they will guide you in the right direction. We ran a 280 Web cam in my bro-in-laws truck and it was good with no disruptions to the computer.
True with moderation and knowledge things can stand the test of time I've had both spray and boost and spray can give you that competitive edge as long as you don't over do it.
