i need to know what all i need to do to bag the front of my truck. what parts i need get and any thing i need to remove or cut. Im also runnin 18 inch wheels so i know i need 4x4 fenders to lay out is the bed just need cut or will the tire hit the outside too?
you dont really need 4x4 fenders, they make little to know difference in clearance. As far as rubbing in the back thats up to your offset on your rims. everything else I either cant help with or im too tired to help with. lol. good luck.
On a 89-95 beds are the same. You'll need upper an lower bag brackets. You'll also need to cut out the hump thing on the front of the frame then plate it up. Tranny crossmember if you wanna lay flat an also a Z notch in the front or you'll sit nose high. Exhaust raised up aswell
Do you want to lay body or frame? If you are doing a body drop it's best to do it all at once. Because the front of the frame (by bumper mounts) needs to get cut and dropped down the same amount as the body drop. And if you Z the front section (cut frame near firewall and move up so that the crossmember does is not lowest point) you have to drop the front section by the bumper mounts that amount also. So Z+BD=front bumper section height basically. You can mod you tranny crossmember to lay out flat. Or you might be able to get one from Steve at Cando Specialties. He has them on the website for 89-95 Toys. As for the '"hump" I think it is the section on the frame between the upper and lower control arms. To maximize lift, I hope you know, the airbag must be mounted close to the frame as possible. You can notch into the frame to fit a larger airbag etc etc. I'm sure you can go look at your truck and figure out what you think needs to be done. It should be built how you want it.
k thanx im not doin a body drop just baggin it. Theres about 7 bagged trucks in my car club but mostly s10s and then one body and bagged yota but its a newer model so was tryin see if any big diff in doin mine but it looks be about straight forward so thanx for advice everyone
Thats wheels in your avatar look to stick out a little, dont know how well they will clear, back is the same as any other truck, decide what kinda of link you want to run, my top bars are a wishbone style, bags on lower bars, Lots of different setups on the front as well, and you need to decide if your gonna run shocks up front too
so i took the bed off today to get stated on the rear and i cound a proportioning valve looking thing on the inside of the frame by the pass rear tire what is this thing and can i take it off and just run brake lines right into the rear brakes instead of through it? also had a long bar attached to the diff
Ya how that works is the long bar is the sensor. It senses the ride height and so if you have something heavy in the box it will apply more rear brakes. If you eliminate it you will only need one line running from the tee near the firewall to the back. Plug the other line at the tee. This will give you full rear braking, making it easy to lock up the back. It's not really bad though you can drive with it. Adjustable proportioning valves can be found for relatively cheap too. They just have a knob usually that you can use to adjust the braking. If you don't want full on rear braking.
There's a tee on the passenger side near the front you tee off the left side which is the high pressure an you leave the low pressure. The hump is under the upper control arm there's a few build ups just look around on here. Check out cando specialties myspace they did a full bag job with lots of pics
Ive got a ton of pics of my front install, but I used the CanDo control arms. Im sure you can use the pics to help you see what to cut, etc.
so the crossmember thats at back of cab can i just cut that out cause when i lay frame i think it would hit the driveshaft? any info
yep cut it out!!! if running a forward link system, the front link bar usually replaces that x-member anyways.
