its a 72-78 shortbed truck. the bed rail at the top was shaved. as were the side marker lights and cab vents. 75-78 grille. lowered about 5-6" all around. top was chopped. its a factory RHD truck in japan. and the biggest change to the body was removing the bodyline that kicks up at the back of the door, and running it straight through down the bedside.

    Thanks Standardbyker88,

It seems your one of the guys that should be a Mod. Is there a build up for it somewhere? It's just I am interested is seeing how it was built as I am paying off a '75 shorty tomorrow. I like the look of the front bumper or whatever you guys call it....

I am thinking of making like a little translation thread (maybe if a mod get hold of it sticky) to see what parts are called, in what country and where it is on the vehicle.

    An example:

    Location:

    Bolted to chassis behind cab

    Name and Country:

    Flat Bed = United States
    'Tray' Tray back = Australia

Is someone interested in helping with this as just for an informaional guide.

That would be a cool idea. And to elaborate on the front of the truck, its all stock toyota parts. Fenders had the lights and emblems shaved, but the hood and grille look stock. So does the front bumper and the valance (the sheetmetal panel behind the bumper, under the grille) and the marker lights in it. The only real custom work was done to the cab, doors, and bed.

:waytogo: Thanks for the extra info. You have been an excellent help. Last question, What size rims are they? To me, they look to be 15s.

Here is a similar perspective shot of my 78 when I had 16s. They were a taller tire, but seems to me to be the same size rims. I had 225/50/16, those on the blue one appear to be 205/50/16s.
