any carb jetted properly. any turbo sized properly tubing, ect, ect. did i answer your general question generally enuff? i have a carb'd supercharger setup, and i know theres at least pics of one turbo build here, search a lil bit and ask better questions.
its deff worth doing, I had it done to mine with a t3/t4 and an edlebrock 500cfm 4 barel... it was AWESOME. I would do it again but I cant find a cheap turbo manifold...
waste of time. celing for a 2Xr is near 200hp, and thats still spending thousands of dollars. if your after power put a different motor in there.
deff not a waste, mine was backyard built and was nasty as hell. its a waste of time if you cant find deals on anything and pay someone for custom work... if you got a welder and can fab stuff go for it. or throw a v8 in for 1000 bucks and call it a day.
nasty as hell for a 22r maybe. a stock 5m would still eat it alive. did you ever have it dyno'd? for a 22r my wagon is nasty as hell, can roast em in 3rd easy. but i know that the stock 1uz im putting in the stout would eat it. hell i bet the LS that motors in right now would destroy the wagon. if im lucky, i have maybe 150hp at the wheels, a cam, head work, better exhaust and ignition and i can maybe see 190. but thats another $2k on top of the $2k ive got into the motor. i already think its a waste of time, im not tossing much more into the motor. $4k with a 1uz could see 600+hp!! but for $1500 im getting a reliable 250hp, and V8 rumble, ill be happy...
I have a 79 tercel and i want to do draw through setup on it, Carb/turbo/intake/head. Do research on it, its definatly a tricky setup and probably more trouble than its worth, but for me its just another dumb project and I have all the parts except for a oil line. people made tons of power on it doing it on american cars, even I think the 1981 firebird came with draw through setup stock. turbos need to have carbon seals i think.
