Would anyone know if an auto tranny out of a 85 2wd with a 22re would fit into my truck, a 91 auto with V6? Mine is acting up and this is low miles.

No..if your planning to keep the V6 in your truck then youll have to get a tranny out of a V6. Oh & another tip too...the automatic trannys are longer so the shafts are different too. If you ever do a manual swap then youll have to change shafts too.

Ok thx smctoy. Ya I kinda wish this truck was a manual. They are more fun to drive but you get what you get. Thx for the info.

Plus you need clutch pedal and brackets. Master and slave cylinders and make a hydraulic line to connect them. But once you have everything you need it is a very easy install!

Yes it will fit. A340 transmissions were the same. Bellhousings are removable so just swap bellhousings. I believe the only thing different is the park/neutral switch on the side of the transmission and I think you can swap that from your older trans.

Really James?? That's what I was hoping for, just swapping bellhousings but I didn't know if that was the only difference. I'll have to do a little more research on the numbers of the trannys. Thx.

Excuse me, I believe the A340E are mostly the same. What does the transmission code say on your door jamb?

The neutral safety switches are different just to let you know. Make sure the 85 is an A340E and not the A43D.
