As title states anyone have a successful rack and pinion setup? Since im doing coilovers up front i might just go all the way and get rid of the steering box. Looks like ae86 stuff would be the closet in regards to front track.

89 Regular Cab. The weirdo with the stock suspension.
Would the Mustang 2 setups that are sold aftermarket work?
Another couple thoughts: I believe the ford ecsort had rack n pinion that may be close to the right size and I worked on a 90's Acura Integra a while back that I think might have worked for our trucks and had pretty nice steering. Might be something to look out for while at the junk yards.

I remember seeing something about a pinto rack & pinion being closest to the correct width needed

Interesting info guys ill keep doing some research. Ill keep you posted in this thread or my build thread.

So for now im thinkin ae86 rack, lca and im going to convert the fronts to mcphearson struts. If not ae86 stuff im going to use mx73 cressida stuff since its easier to come by and would be probably be a better fit when i get to throw an s13 irs setup out back.

Power steering or manual depending on how it feels up front with my jz.

Progress will be slow ups is kickin my butt right now.
