    Gday,

I'm Tom from Lark Hill in QLD, Australia. Just saw a '75 lux that want to buy to do up as a little project for my brother before he can drive. I am making an offer tomorrow in cash and hopefully I'll get it outta there by the end of the week. It is only 650 ono so i am aiming for around 400/500 depending on how bad he wants to get rid of it.

Another reason I am on here is because I already own a 1980 RN46 lux.

Heres a few pics... Not the best by any means but it gets me from A to B.

What are some decent mods people have in theirs?
Going for at least a drop

if you like stuff low...me, sd yota and burnzya will be your most frequently read builds :D

in my 78, i have a lot of motor work done, its very very low, corolla seats, custom console, celica gauges are in the works, small stereo, ect.

i kept the body real stock. just a vw mirror and pulled the rear bumper. still has mud flaps, stock steelies, front bumper pushers, ect. check out the builds around here and get some ideas.

send me a dash and ill find you any parts you need :D

Been on for a few hours and checked out the site, I have to admit that it these rides are very nice. Most of the mods that I have seen aren't legal but I think a 3 inch lowering block would be ok.

    What needs to be done:

    Tyres
    Rims
    Brakes front and back
    Rear lights (halogen to led)
    Respray fuel tank
    Fuel cap
    Rust proof chassis then paint
    Build custom tray
Remove and upgrade all the wiring ect
New seat covers but seats looked alright
    New headlight bulbs
    Maybe new bumper
New metal thing thats under the bumper
    (damaged from tow hook)

New side badges can't remember if it said hilux or toyota but it is in the same spot as hilux4WD on my RN46...

and most probably lots of other little things

If it doesn't run well then thats more fun.

But at worst case it will just get sold again. I know my work will buy it for 1000 so id make my money but i'd be :looney:

    Tom

Nice truck...the background in the pic reminds me of the Daintree area for some reason! (how small-minded of me...it's probably the driveway reminds me of one I found my buddy passed out in there) I remember that "Welcome to the end of the road" and "watch out for the crocs, mate" seemed to be favorite sayings up there! Queensland has some beautiful sights, for sure.

    Welcome to the site!

Well since I have been asked to send stuff over there I may aswell but I would rather send a 40fter with a few in there than just one. Maybe one day but for the moment try www.carsales.com.au but thw wreakers as we call them... funnily enough I work there... sells half decent ones for under a 1000 with spare change. Cost for one on the road this is 'ok' is 5000.

Well sorry to misinform you but hat is just my old mechanic place (86 and still going strong) we help out each other but I am learning off him and he is grateful for a hand. Those trees are acutually in the middle of a creek which floods through his shed whenever there is decent rain.

The car is a small hatch, I havent been down for a few weeks, but it hasn't moved in over three months. Ford escort or a little capri is your answer. In the background there is a few falcons with the round headlights an xc flacon half a mustang boss (don't know which one) 3 chevys (one truck and two cars) there was a firebird in the mix somewhere and a few jeeps and land rovers.

It is his 'collection' which is highly prized... I never asked if he wanted to sell just what the interesting ones were.

I have done a few but mainly with my old man but he passed when he only started teaching me. For a living I pull them apart a few weeks ago it was a 57 customline :brickknock: but i couldn't save its fate.

Called him up today but he didn't answer, so i went to his place the car is still there and the wife wants nothing to do with it.
Organised a meet tomorrow so fingers crossed...

Not in a decent mood now... turned up with my trailer in the '80 and saw that it was already half loaded on a towtruck. Thought to my self hey he didn't have to go this far, I can easily pick it up now. As it turns out the local wreakers called up offering a thousand to take it away. Obviously he jumped to the chance... Damn! It was a decent truck.

Had a 30 min talk trying to get him out of it but it didn't work.

    :brickknock:

If only the guy was home a few days ago...

I will see of I can still get it but in the mean time I shifted my focus onto the rotting Datsun 1500 (bout a '74) fix that up then drop it with the same plans.

Since it is ages before this can go on the road I decided to keep illegal.

    I decided to got with:

    4.5-inch Rear blocks
    3-inch Drop Spindles
    Ball Joint Flip
    New Front Coils
    Bucket seats
Decent sound (just 6x9s or something)

    What I think it needs:

    Rust removed ASAP
    New body panels
    Windscreen front and back
    Trim (all over)
Dash just a small crack in the middle
    Maybe a shift kit idk
    17/18 inch rims
Low profile tyres (off roaders on atm)
Engine maybe rebuilt or swap in my spare 351
Shock absorbers (anyone had troubles lowering with coilovers?)
    Automatic windows
    Car Alarm
Rebuilt aluminum fuel tank no fuel cell I think they look $&^!
    Front bumper and grille
Custom flatbed to suit lowering blocks
    Led tail lights
    Custom tyre carrier
Window wiper system rebuilt (wiper motor rubbers tubing ect)
New side mirrors and incab aswell
Decent tunes (reverse sub and 6x9s or something nothing major)

Of course this will go along the same guidlines as the '75 I missed out on but it will turn out totally custom.

Colour might be metallic black with deep silver speckle. Then kawasaki green Mist type flames

sounds badasss! I personally like stuff in "found in a field, then lowered too much" style. But I'm not against some well built stuff with some actual new parts. Haha.

I am envious of this blokes front, but dont like the rear for some reason. I think its a shame to bag it.
