I’m new to the site. I’ve had this ‘78 for about seven years now and a couple chevys before it. I enjoy project vehicles but have really taking a like to this one. I like to see other people’s rides as well as hopefully locate hard to find parts for mine.

    Thanks!
Cruise night last night Abilene Texas.
Truck’s a 1978 with mostly stock 20r; Weber with header into custom exhaust. Lowered springs on front and blocks in back. I don’t know the wheel brand. I don’t care for them much anyway, to big with not enough tire. It has I believe w50 five speed tranny. It’s a work in progress!

    Thanks man!!
I’ve had the truck for about 7 years now, bought it from a military guy. It was a roller when I got it. I put a motor in it and drove it around for a couple years then put it down for repairs/makeover. It’s only been back on the road for a couple months now.

Austin area you probably definitely have more of a mini truck scene. Here I’m rollin’ with a bunch of American muscle. :headbang:

Truck looks great, nice patina on the back.

Saw you mention custom exhaust on your truck - How does it sound?

I'm always looking for sound clips of 20r exhaust systems because I want to swap out what I have. Plenty of sound clips for 22re's but not much for the older carb'd trucks/cars with the 20r. Mine is obnoxiously loud with a flowmaster, 2.25" pipe, no CAT and a header.

I won’t say badass custom but custom nevertheless. It’s header into what looks like.......a cherrybomb...(I really wanted to leave that part out)..into a Flowmaster then vette tips. The exhaust was installed before I got it. It fits the truck ok; not something I want to spend $$ on, yet. It’s a bit loud at high rpms but tolerable after fatmating the cab. I’ll see about posting a clip.

The patina backend was short lived. That pic was right before paint. I ran out of yellow; but had black. Hahaha

Still have the truck and still adding to it.
    Updates since last posted:
    New wiring harness (kwikwire)
New gauges (went with speedhut, thanks to “jetas” posts)
New ignition kit (lce - fast ignition)
Different wheels (free Ford steelies. Cleaned up ok with fresh paint)
    Front end finally painted
Metal and body work on bed (welded up old body line)
Coming around. Still needs suspension upgrade and motor rebuild. But hell of a cruiser.
