had to pull intake manifold off to get to oil filter (was that bad) Anyway, injectors were off the truck. I reinstalled them. I have a feeling I might've swapped two of the injector wires... How can I tell? Upon start up, she's perfectly fine. With the cold start, I think it balanced out the fuel to all cylinders. I think once warmed up and the fuel usage is down, the two swapped connectors made it run like crap. Well, it idles like a 454 with the largest cam available. I can drive perfectly fine? I found out when I was driving down the neighborhood street and when i let off the throttle, it started doing that crazy idle (assuming truck warmed up by then) Could the swapped injector wires be the problem? and does anyone have a diagram of which wires go where? Could the mixed vacuum lines cause this? I'm tired, it's 3AM :/
I believe they may be batch fired. Meaning all of them fire at once, order wouldn't matter, but let me check.
Ok, there are two colored sources from the ECU. Cylinders one and three have a White/Red wire in their pairs, and two and four have a White wire in their pairs. That being said, the White and White/Red are connected by a jumper and they all should fire simultaneously.
oil filter didn't budge at all last night. had to resort to getting a chiseled edge on the rolled lip of the filter. bad idea, yeah. I'll look over the truck again. It's mind boggling me. thanks lit
update: tore off the manifold, checked all my injectors, seemed to be in the right connection. On my way back out I made sure everything was bolted down correctly and such. after that, I pulled the TPS connector out, looked "wet" so i took a towel in it and cleaned it off. plugged that back in. jiggled everything else and it seems fine now. I also sprayed the cold start injector to clean it, make sure it didnt stick wide open. 1st and 3rd Inj. Redblack w/ redwhite 2nd and 4th Inj. Redblack w/ white seems fine! Last night, I also replaced the orings on the injectors. Thanks Lit for the information!
