    Hi
i got a 92 hilux diesel double cab. with stock suspension.this is my daily ride and was thinking of any possibility of taming the suspension. will by changing the suspension give me some decent ride?
(not that the current setup too bad, but tend to bounce when myself alone is driving-which is most of the time)
Old Man Emu and rancho is popular & available in here as far as i know,
what would be the best for daily use on road for comfort & handling ?

    thanks
    chamara

You mean change the shocks or actually get new arms, springs, etc? I'd just get a set of decent quality shocks. I run monroe reflex monotubes for a 90 chevy c1500 (2wd 1/2 ton any engine) and they're pretty stiff for the big bumps but comfortable for the regular stuff. reflex monotube is THE top of the line from monroe and I wouldn't suggest getting anything but, most of their truck shocks are garbage. In back I have monroe air-assist shocks with the minimum inflation. Mine's totally stock otherwise BTW. From rock auto the fronts were ~40 each, rears were ~90 for the pair

The front end will benefit greatly from good shocks, the back is too light empty because the springs are rated for when it's full.

Everyone has their own preferences though

I liked my Rancho RS5000 s. They improved the handling. But they wouldn't last forever. Or at least not as long as a shock designed for a heavier vehicle, such as a Chevy, would last. That is why  that is a good idea.

    thanks guys

i was thinking to change the shocks initially.(due to cost factor) and then think of maybe change the rear end leafs.ranco rs5000 are available in here, did it improve the ride quality (less harsh ride)?

monroe , im not sure we have here, but should check out.
i agree with the back end when empty tend to bounce alot, will removing a leaf from the pack do any good ?

I'm not sure the RS5000s really improved the ride quality. But that's probably because my front torsion bars were cranked up. And my seats weren't that comfortable. But I still recommend them. Performance and handling was increased without a doubt.

I get all my shocks from rockauto.com. after shipping it's 2/3 the price of the local parts stores for the same darn thing.
