My AC runs fine sitting in the yard.
Also runs fine if i drive easy and don't rev the engine very much.
If i drive normal, its starts to cycle on and off really fast after a few miles.
Ive checked the pressure, and it reads a little hi at idle. after i have driven it, for a few miles and it starts acting up, it reads to low.

The whole time this is going on, the line from the condenser coil in front of the radiator, to the fire wall is cold as ice.

I have charged the system, and it still does it.

    any ideas?

Have you changed the filter drier?

It sounds like its low or stopped up. If you are positive its not low then read on...

Your expansion valve is starting to stop up. You need to change the expansion valve and the drier and evacuate the system for 45 minutes and recharge it.

If its an R-12 system now is the time to switch to 134-a or go find some freeze12, they sell it at many parts stores here.

    Its a 134 a system.
I have a drier in the parts bin, ill pickup a expansion valve.
    where is the valve located?
Thanks, was not sure what it was, but that makes sense.
So i change the parts, then vac the system for 45 and charge.

And thanks for not telling me to get rid of it....haha
