Hi I'm working on my 92 22re 2wd pickup and I want to remove the abs. I don't need that big heavy thing on the front passenger side of the frame. My brakes aren't even hooked up to it anymore. All that is left is the power steering hoses. I am wondering how other people have done it? I know that I am dealing with pressurized hoses and so they have to be done right. I need to take the pressurized hose that goes to the abs out and hook it up to the driver's side steering box connection. I am dealing with banjo fittings too so I'm not sure how to do it? Any suggestions? Has anyone ever deleted the pos abs?

I might have to call on the head honchos for this one. It seems pretty complicated. I don't want to delete the power steering. Just the abs.

So the high pressure power steering hoses are what I am looking at. What kind of lines should I use if I want to make a custom length? I know they have to hold pressure, but how much pressure are we talking about?

There's quite a bit of pressure there. I would find a local hydraulic shop and have them make a custom line for you. Shouldn't cost much more than $50 or so.

From what I could find, 1989 was when the trucks began to have rear brake abs. And it would only work in 2wd mode (if it was a 4wd). And then in 1994 abs was introduced in a full format that worked on all 4 corners.

I wanted to delete it and I think I figured out how to do it. I just need to go to where my 1987 4x4 sr5 is stored and pull off a power steering line. I just hope it doesn't have abs.

I tried to do that and they said they can't do it. I had those 2 ends in my hand, said I need to make a hose and they said no. Maybe they just hate me? I still can't figure out why. Some people are really fuked up.

Yea I had an old truck stored at at family friend's place. I went there and stole the old version stuff off of that 1987 4x4. Before Toyota added the rear abs crap. It was easy 'cuz there was no grille or rad lol so I just went in from the front. The benefits of having a parts truck lol
