The condenser on my 84 DLX is literally falling apart and needs to be replaced. Apparently, Toyota used several manufacturers for their aftermarket AC systems back in the day, especially on the trucks. I have purchased a couple of condensers from the junkyard, only to find that the fittings were in the wrong place, etc. when I got them home. Long story short, how do I determine who the manufacturer of my particular system was and where would I be able to get a new, used or usable condenser? Thank you very much in advance for your assistance!

There is a difference between port and dealer installed a/c systems

I'm almost positive this was dealer installed, as my grandfather purchased it new in 1984 in Pennsylvania or western Maryland and I believe he had it installed by the dealer in 1984 at or right after the time of purchase. Is there a place or a part on which the manufacturer's name would be printed, stamped, embossed, etc.? I didn't see anything on the compressor or condenser.

I would remove it & take photo's from all sides & top & bottom & measurements than search on line for a match!
Also you will have to change the drier & you should pull & change out the evaporator inside the box in the cab, than you must use a vacuum pump on the system just before charging!
