Go with fox racing shocks more expensive but better in the long run, you can have them adjusted to your liking and you can have them rebuilt
Yea but with the camaro shocks you might have to fight them a lil because they are just so much stiffer.
That is correct. Just enlarge them with a grinder or something. I cut the outside edge off making it more like a fork than a hole. And then I used washers on the bolts. Grade 8 material (washer, nuts, bolts) are recommended. It's not that hard to do. And totally worth it!
When I try to source these shocks, I'm always asked about engine size and what-not? Is there a particular engine size or does it matter?
I remember being asked that question. Yea I think there is like 3 engines. I was told to get the ones for a V8. I think it was the 302 that I chose.
I Just went to the junk yard and found an 82 that had a missing engine but good shocks. I grabbed them and when I went to install the one good front shock but the holes didn't line up and the shock had a steel cover on top that wouldn't let it pass through the space between where the bottom of the shock mounted so I ended up having to take my drill and punch out the welds and rip the cover off with a pair of snips because I don't have a sawzall here yet *facepalm* so After than I ended up having to use a hand file, because I also don't have a grinder here *doublefacepalm* But I got them filed down pretty quickly with an big angry steel file my grandfather had. Got it done just in time to go take the woman her jewelery tools and books for school this afternoon! How can I tell if they're Camaro shocks or just 22R model shocks? Is there a suspension diff between 80 and 82 2wd? anyways sorry to thread jack just got excited.

anyone try using the 69 camaro front load adjusting shock? There the ones with helper spring over the shock. Ive seen people use them in back to help with hauling and stiffening monoleaf setups just wondering how good they would work up front.
