Well the wife as been after me for some time to paint the run around car I share with my 19 year old son who is off @ college & drive s it when home. This is a 94 Corolla with 276,000 miles on it, runs great,no leaks of any kind,looked bad,as was brought for my first son, & had primer spots all over it.
Polished out all the lites, new exhaust tip,& lic. frames w/ screw covers,& new wheel covers! Single stage Omini paint( PPG) ,shot in drive way under Easy-up booth!My 2nd car/truck painted. Not perfect,but not too bad!
Do it, this is the 2nd paint job for me,so I'm still learning. Right out of high school ( a long time ago), I worked in a motor cycle shop & did all the painting. Not the same as shooting a car or truck, & than it was all lacquer! Would be better with a paint booth,more controls!
yeah my cousin owns one of the best quality body/paint shops around tampa but hes not interested in hookin me up on anything. If anything I would love to hang around and see how stuff is done. But my neighbor owned a custom paint and body shop up in PA for 20ish years? and told me he would paint anything for me just gotta find a booth. But Im thinking about getting one of my friends with a shiddy car and painting it for him just to see how it turns out, in my driveway of course lol.
