Hi, I've been looking around this site and I'm finally posting my first one. I bought my 22RE powered 93 extracab a year and 2 months ago and been loving it. I do over 100 miles a day and it never gave me any trouble. It has 146K in it and purs much smoother after I replaced the wires and plugs with factory Toyota ones yesterday. I've been using it for work and towing my bike to the track with it. I really never had any intention of modifying the truck until I replaced my wheels that came from a Mitsubishi Starion. It looked like it can go fast and looked really nice with the fat 225/50 16 rear tires. I'm thinkin about swapping a 7mgte or a 1jzgte. Kinda impractical for something to use for work in the field everyday but oh well  . I'm just worried about emissions here in Southern Cali. I wouldn't know how I can make it pass through a referee. If it is so much hassle I'll just stay with the original 4 banger. Will be posting pics soon :) ..

Any engine swaps like that in this state will cause you nothing but problems!!
Just build or go with LC Engineering stuff on your 22re, you'll be more than happy with with the results!!

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yeah I know about the emissions problems.. I had a 12sec 88 ST165 Alltrac but it was easy to "smog" it cuz it is all wheel drive. But my buddies with their early Civics with B16's, they had tons of problems. I just thought it would be fun to drop a big yota engine in the truck. It's those damn Starion wheels :D .. they gave some evil ideas.. hehe.. It definitely handles way better with those fat tires. My buddy said a 1jzgte would help me pass through the referee if I swapped the valve cover with one from the 2jzgte. Oh well, next year I'm about to get an 05 and up S2000. I thought it would be cheaper if I did this Supra engine for my truck instead of getting the car. If I do go with the truck project, I have no choice but get the 2jz or 1jz because the 7mgte would be too old for the chassis.. But what the hell am I looking for horsepower for, I have an 05 GSXR 1000 with 162hp @ the wheels ;) ..

Yah, I'll be taking pics of the truck as soon as I give it a car wash this weekend. Nothing special, just an original white paint with the gay looking blue graphics on the sides :D ..

My old racing buddy had a GSXR650,when they first came out,got into road racing as was to fast for the street. 140/2.4sec 0 to 60 right out of the crate!!
Which your self,as you can easily self destruct on that very, very fast machine!!
    Very cool ride though!!

Thanks.. I asked around about the engine transplant and I guess my truck will stay 22RE powered  .. It is even hard for Supra owners to do 1JZ swaps. The most I'll do in the future is a paintjob and a 2 inch drop so it is easier to load the bike..
