New to the forum and Toyota's in general. I picked this up in a trade from a friend a few days ago. I needed a gas saver for in town driving and something to possibly replace the accord my 17yr old son is currently driving with this after I teach him how to drive stick. It's a 92 5sp with 4" blocks, turned torsions and Tenzo rims with 225/40/18's After looking through the Gallery, I'm liking the pre 84s more and more. May have to sell this one and buy something earlier
Welcome to TM ... Nice yoter you have there ... Too bad we're so far apart, we could've worked a deal with my '85 ...
I didn't trade the accord. I bought him a 2001 accord 4dr when he got his license earlier this year. I want to give him the Toyota then sell the Honda and maybe get a 2 dr Accord coupe. He drives to School every day. I just think it has way too many doors for a high school student Plans? Not sure yet but for now, maybe drive it for a bit then sell it and get an earlier model.
The engine is bone stock. I wasn't to fond of the idea of driving around on 40 series tires but I seem to be getting use to them.
BTW, truck has an Alpine head unit with a SIRIUS satellite tuner/interface, Alpine separates in the doors, Alpine amp and a 6" JL Audio sub behind the bench. It also has ice cold a/c and the interior is extremely clean with a single cigarette ash burn on the drivers side. Any suggestions on upgrades?.....aside from maybe a bigger sub box
I did not know that. BTW, I was a bit disappointed in the Bouncy Bounce ride quality I was Having. It reminded me of the ride I have on my 56 VW Single Cab After some browsing of the various suspension topics, I realized I was riding on bump stops up front. I went ahead and removed the stops and raised it back up to where it originally sat. When I removed the stops, the front went down another 1.5" and was sitting on the tires I'm going to try the B/J flip next. Just waiting on my buddy to find the wheel locks
Dude nice single cab! I like the rims a lot! I too am new to TM and i even had the same suspension problem. Hahaha As a matter of fact i still have to adjust my torsion bars... Build thread time! -RONI-
Thanks, the bumpy ride went away when I removed the bump stops. Shocks seem to be working fine. I'm sure if I were to get a set of shorty shocks, the ride would improve.
I'm not feeling the rims right now. I think I'm going to go with a rim with a deep lip and maybe something in black. What can I expect to get ($) for this wheel n tire set up? Tires have an even tread of maybe 75%.
