I've been doing a lot of research and if I wanted to upgrade my stock radiator and fan, I might want to upgrade my alternator too. So basically my choices at this stage are (since most of the old threads refer to discontinued parts or dead links):

    Genesis ALL ALUMINUM RADIATOR, ALUM (17-3/4 x 20-3/4 x 1-3/4) - 3 Rows. --ALUMINUM, 14 lbs Currently $161.99 (-$20 online coupon = $141.99)

    Flex-a-lite 684 S-blade Engine Cooling Fan Currently $299.95

I guess all I need now is a solid alternator? Anyone have any recommendations?

After I put on a taurus 2 speed fan a few years ago, I'm a firm believer in keeping the stock mechanical fan if you are able.
The e-fan worked ok until it got to summer time or I was climbing a steep grade and then it would get HOT quick, but once I switched back to the stock mechanical fan, all my over heating problems went away. I also did not notice any power gain or MPG increase from it like a lot of people said I would.
I spent less then $70 for the fan and controller and it was just a waste of money. I couldn't imagine spending what you are looking at for those results.

Interesting. It is nice to read a modern day review (rather than 6 year old post).

Some questions that I might have for you though:

How many rows was/is your radiator?

    Is it a stock radiator?

Did you have your fan set to the highest speed at all times or was set up differently?

I put a lot of weight someone's reply when they've actually done something so I do see your point. I'm wondering if now I should just get the aluminum radiator keep the stock fan and just upgrade the alternator later when I need to.

Stock radiator so its a 2 row I think. The fan was a 2 speed, and high speed was for normal cooling and the low was tied into the A/C clutch to come on when the ac was on.

I would do the radiator upgrade and leave the stock fan. Thats my plan when this one goes out and I know I'm on borrowed time with it because its the crappy plastic tank one.

I appreciate your posts. Thanks. I think I'll just go with the radiator for now.
