so i picked up this truck from a buddy of mine and traded him my LS swap EG civic for this and another honda accord. I sold the accord and fell in love with the yoda. I feel pretty damn lucky considering I havent seen another another one on the road down here yet.. how i got it, pretty clean minus rust and some damage on the driver door.

so far Ive just been doing rust repair
    [IMG]
Im not a welder so instead i just cut out the cancer, sprayed it inside, and filled it with gorilla hair, then bondo'd over.

and just more body work, re-repairing the body work on the door
    [IMG]
since then it's all just been sanding down, removing the trim and other ****, but ive been set back because of the terrible weather right now :brickknock:

but anyways my plans now to lower it a little bit right now, just a 2/3. spray it that nice gloss rustoleum red :D and i have a set of retro 1970s chrome hub caps to fit on my new offset wheels. give it that classic old school jdm look :)

So here is my update, very close to being complete I think.

I continued doing body work and fixing imperfections

got to use a welder and put in metal plugs and Shaved the antenna and side mirrors. oh btw... welding is alot harder than it looks :duh:

I also did a 3/4 static drop, Torsion and blocks, doesnt bottom out or anything just "perfecctt" Also switched out steelies with a wider offset. the origional tire sire stretched perfect on the front to clear the fender, the rear I spaced out with fatter tires and got it to also clear within a quarter inch.

I was able to use my buddy's garage and put up plastic to create my own spray booth. Wet sanded and glazed the whole truck so it was ready

It was origionally "sunrise red" which was like a fire truck red color.. but as you can kind of see how it "reacted"

This of course frustrated me because I just finished working 12hr straight setting up the garage, the truck, and I thought I did great for my first time spraying. Even coats, no runs, went on great.

I guess it was for the best though cuz I then switched colors and rattle'd it back to life. I went with that Bitchin' Burgundy  and I think it came out great

    done

Finished up the truck, still got a few missing things, the black mud cover pieces for the rear fender and the windshield molding.. but here's the run down...

    Rustoleum Burgundy paint
Shaved the antenna and left side mirror
relocated the side mirror to the fender with a retro chrome piece
14" steelies with the tires staggered
1970s Toyota or Datsun  chrome hub caps
also did the bed in armorshield spray but kept the side panels the same color..

Matched the rim lips with the same burgundy paint

Interior came out nice too, right before I used a rented carpete cleaner and took out the bench and cleaned out everything and tried my best to get rid of all the stain...:waytogo:

I still need to polish the paint more, some of the panels like the hood are still only wetsanded with 1500..

but yeh!! heres my retro 88 yota :)

Looking good man! I like that color, it looks fresh but represents the year vintage
