Finally think I'm going to get around to rebuilding my motor and have a couple questions...

Going with the LCE street head, full rebuild kit, and new head bolts. I'm hoping I can reuse the old rods since the bottom end is going to stay stock.

Wondering: Should I get a new crank or is the old one good? The truck has around 200K miles on it so really no clue what's if anything is wrong with it.

These cranks are stout and wear resistant. I believe they are steel as opposed to cast iron?
I pull a rebuilder apart that was hashed on; cracked block, cyl bore issues, copper showing on every other rod bearing.
Despite these and other signs of abuse the crankshaft miked out to within .0005 (half a thou') of specs. Closer, actually.
It's worth noting that the 22r ran like a Swiss watch before teardown.

Forgot to get to point- measure all journals on crank. If within specs and no oblongation or serious grooving you can probably run it.
