they may run the closer but taller gears if it's a W57 or 58. The shifter housing may need to be swapped for the one on your truck (so the shifter doesn't come out in your sheet metal) otherwise should be the same.

Check the build plate and find out what transmission it has but it probably won't be much different gearing-wise than our truck's 5 speed.

    1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
    W55 3.566 2.056 1.384 1 0.85 (2wd trucks, celicas, supras, IS300)
    W56 3.954 2.141 1.384 1 0.85 (4wd trucks)
    W57 3.285 1.894 1.275 1 0.861 (celicas, supras, cressidas)
    W58 3.285 1.894 1.275 1 0.783 (later supras, cressidas)

    Sorry, columns got jacked up.

well I want to move my shifter back that is one of the big reason for this swap right now

and for the life of me I forget what my rear gear ratio is, I will have to check my vin

and sadly no vin form these trans since there stocked on the shelf

from what gather, all 3rd gen toyota trucks have the same gear ratio and from what I know. I can see it taking a big toll in power

I am mostly wounding about the drive shaft will it fit

once i do the lex v8 swap I will not care to much

reeeeeeaaaallly... I might have to find me one of those. 3.07 rear end with the W55 is bad for launches but puts 5th where it oughta be.

my truck came w a W55 (same as celica) but beware -if ur truck originally had the 4spd, then the new 5spd will need minor fab work -the rear mount, and the shifter hole. u have to use the drive shaft that came with the 5spd trucks to mate properly w the new trans.

--at least, thats what i'm told/what i've experienced.

all buy the trans but all swap it in when I get my 1uzfe

for now with the 22re the close ratio is what it needs

both the w56 and w58 are the same size
