Alright here is my 600 dollar score. 20r 200k but about $3k in maintnance type work...runs amazingly.
has a 5 speed and tach.

Found on craigslist, no pictures but was really close to my house so i just went and looked. Older guy just wanted it gone. He had owned it since 83. Said it was the sr5 but he took off all the stickers/graphics when he had it repainted in 90.

Here it was when I got it....

I found a brand new windshield on craigs for it (stock was cracked) for 50 bucks.
installed that. Then sanded and painted the bed where the patched up rust was. Then painted from the channel down red and painted the channel black.
also made my own vinyl tonneua cover.

Also put a full new exhaust from bottom of manifold back.
Bedlined the inside of the bed too.
There is now a 5 speaker (4 mids/highs) and 1 sub and 200 watt amp setup in it.

So my plans for this upcoming weekend is to lower it just a tad..so I will be doing it for free/cheap.

I will be loosening the torsion bars up front and probably making blocks for the rear or maybe just pull the overload spring...
I will decide when I do it.

Here is a shot of my 85 supra for ya guys too.

yeah I knew the show was over there... I have family over there so maybe I can make the short trip.

By then my truck should be dropped and maybe with some new wheels if I can find some cheap ones...

awesome. i was using my phone earlier, now seeing the supra on the computer screen i remember your hood build on one of the supra sites. looks good. id paint the hood doors to match though, except that front edge, so it looks like they arent even there almost. truck cleaned up nice though. paint the wheels or polish them, looks like paint.

well after making a trip to my storage unit and remember I have a 5mge out of my supra laying around up there....
I am drawing up a custom intake to carb it. This will make a swap damn easy cause the whole fuel injection system will be eliminated, which will nearly eliminate wiring.
The mounts are damn close and will work with just a little modding.

So a carbed inline 6 crammed in here...header and possibly welded diff. (or possibly posi/lsd swap) would really wake this thing up.
If I take the bell housing from a 5m (which connects to a w58 in the supras) it will bolt right up to the W series tranny that is in my truck...
This is all in the drawings right now as this is my daily driver till I get my supra tuned and reliable...
but once it is..the truck goes under the knife.

ive had the same thought. only thing i couldnt ever get a straight answer from supra sites was if the intake could clear the distributor, would the ignition still work without the computer. i figured it would, but i dont know toyota ignitions. let me know how the swap goes. and do you plan to do sidedrafts or just like a 4bbl?

ignition is the only thing I still have to look into...probably just gonna get a universal trigger system...can be had for a decent price...or I will do the wiring required to make the stock supra stuff work.
If I can find a used sidedraft setup I will...if not I will make a custom manifold to hold a good sized 2 barrel carb probably...

Again this is all in the drawings but hoping to move into fab work soon enough

well keep us posted, because im still tossing it up if the ignition isnt a terrible nightmare. i figured with a long runner like stock, the distributor should clear. most ive seen run a modified 7M setup. hell, ive considered a saab turbo 16v 4 banger. i want a cool swap that makes about 250 at the crank. any more and ill have to upgrade the rear end and wont get traction. hell, 250 will be tough to hook.

    I will definitely...
I should be having some pictures updates in the next couple days of lowering it a bit...but thats gonna be it for a while...maybe a little paint work.

    tis a SR5.

the oil/volt gauge proves it. unless there is hacked in wiring to connect those gauges.

SR5 package was usually (unless dealer optioned)
    extra gauges (oil/volt)
    tach
    5speed or auto w/overdrive
    brushed aluminum steering wheel inserts
    chromed vents
    sticker package
    slider rear window.

Alright the front is dropped as low as I can safely go with this wheel/tire combo. The offset of the wheels is too low so they stick out too far...

here is the spacing I have.

I dont want to rub going into driveways and such and this is my daily driver and occasionally I do dick around in it so I think this is a happy median until I can get some new wheels.

Took me about 20 min to do this morning while drinking my coffee.
I am happy with the drop. I got rid of about 2.5-3 inches of fender gap with it..

Back will come this weekend when I can buy/make some blocks for the rear.
