Ok so i just had a thought since i was at the junkyard the other day and saw a 7mge.
would using the fuel injectors from a 7mge help improve hp?
Or will it just waste more gas and do nothing?
My injectors on my 22re are in ok shape no problems with them but i checked and it'd only be like 40 bucks to pick em up?
Is it worth it? or will they even work/snap on with no modification?

wouldn't hurt to have a set of injectors that maybe someone might pay up for. but i'm unsure if they're special by any means.

Lol yes that's very expensive for me and I would drop in the 7mgte but I don't have the money or the tools or anywhere to do it :(

Guys, fitting larger injectors will not improve horsepower. All they do is provide the ability to spray more fuel into the engine... if there's not more air in there (turbo, bigger cam, etc) then the larger injectors don't do anything.

In fact, if you change injectors and nothing else, your car probably won't run! Larger injectors are basically just larger hose nozzles/outlets, so for the same amount of time the ECU tells them to 'open' they will release more fuel than a smaller injector will. Obviously if you don't re-tune your car/ecu for this, then it will start running too rich (ie. too much fuel) and smoke, miss, or not run at all.

The other thing to bear in mind is that 7MGE injectors may actually be smaller than the ones you're replacing.... so make sure you do your research. Just because it's a bigger motor, or more powerful, doesn't mean they're any bigger!

Firstly, there are six of them and a 22R only has four! Also, the tune on the other engine might ahve them open for longer periods of time.

If it ain't broke... don't fix it! :)

I gots no truck, for now
imagine the engine as a vacuum cleaner. more fuel and air in, more power out. Add more fuel with same amount of air, it doesnt run right, same with adding more air but same amount of fuel.

If you have a huge hose on the vacuume its not going to change very much how much power it makes, too small of a hose for a big vacuume will limit it.

this is the same for your engine, upgrading one small part will not change the whole, there is no such thing as cheap free power.

the 7MGE does use bigger injectors but the above guys are right. gasoline runs only in a very narrow AFR, adding more fuel or air will only hurt by throwing off the mixture.

    22RE has 200cc/min injectors. 7MGE has 295cc/min.
