I have a 79 long bed 3/4 ton, I bought some 1998 honda civic seats because I was under the impression they bolted right in... Needless to say either I did something wrong or they dont work. I was wondering if they will work or what seats do? These are too high when I put them in and I can not fit between the seat and the steering wheel... I left the sliders on, an i suppose to take them off or what? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
Get the SR5 bucket seats found in the 79-83 trucks. They do bolt right in and are comfy. I used to have RX7 seats in mine, but they were too low and hurt my knees driving lond distances. Sorry I dont have a clear pic, but I bet you can get an idea
u-pull it research might need to just go window shopping at a u-pull it, look at the seats with a few measurements and give it a shot. i think a good deal of the seat swaps take a little back yard engineering.. if the tabs are flat up front, need to be bent to match the seat brace of our truck, or vice versa in the rear, maybe drilling a new hole and putting a nut and washer behind the brace? and not using the factory welded nut. i have some old starion seats and had to bend or add a tab or two on them. did you see if the civic seats can easily mod to fit, like making new hole for bolt or bendinga tab flat for rear mount, stuff like that? for some people a little tweaking might be part of "bolting in".. my bench seat didn't have the 4th hole for bucket seats. of course the less welding and bending the better in most cases, don't wan to bend a tab back and forth and weaken in.
